Artifacts from Macedonian Sites Seized in Slovenia Return to Macedonia

(MIA, 20.10.2006) - A total of 190 items of Macedonian cultural heritage, which two men from Strumica excavated from archaeological sites in the country’s southeast, have been returned from Slovenia.
The items were seized in March 2005 at the Croatian-Slovenian border in a bus, intended for the German market.
Most of the items are made out of bronze, dating from the beginning of the 7th until the end of the 6th centuries B.C., while the ceramic items and coins from the 4th and 3rd centuries B.C.
